Stop Press: Saturday’s Concert repertoire change

This Saturday’s concert, hitherto featuring Handel Coronation Anthems and Birthday Ode for Queen Anne, will now instead centre on Mozart Requiem. This is in recognition of the life and service of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The advertised soloists and orchestra will remain, and tickets remain purchasable from Tickets Oxford via the following link: https://www.ticketsoxford.com/events/handel-coronation-anthems

In recognition of the national period of mourning following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, this concert will now not feature the Handel Coronation Anthems, but centre on the Mozart Requiem. The Cathedral Singers, along with their director James Morley Potter, a fine team of soloists, and Oxford’s professional baroque orchestra Instruments of Time and Truth, will perform this special concert in the glorious surroundings of Christ Church Cathedral. Additionally, Simon Hogan, organist to the Cathedral Singers, will perform Handel’s buoyantly optimistic Organ Concerto in F.

This will be a fitting opportunity to memorialise the contribution of our late Queen with stirring music, beautifully performed by some of Oxford’s top musicians.
